Where victory points come from
| Source | Points | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Settlement | 1 | Each on the board |
| City | 2 | Upgrades a settlement (replaces its 1) |
| Longest Road card | 2 | At least 5 connected roads; passes to anyone who beats you |
| Largest Army card | 2 | At least 3 knights played; passes to anyone who beats you |
| Victory Point card | 1 | Development card, kept hidden until you win |
How a turn works
- Roll the two dice. Every hex with that number produces resources for the settlements and cities on it. A 7 moves the robber instead.
- Trade with players, or with the bank at 4:1 (better at harbours).
- Build roads, settlements and cities, or buy development cards.
The first player to reach 10 points on their own turn wins.
Tracking points
Catan scores change both ways: Longest Road and Largest Army can move between players. Enter each player's change after every turn, including minus 2 when a bonus card is taken from them. The scorecard keeps totals and shows who's closest to 10.
